The Neon Lights Of Broadway Shine In Palm Springs When Caballeros, The Gay Men's Chorus Of Palm Springs Perform For One Night Only, Aptly Named I Love New York, Highlighting Various Popular Contemporary Broadway Show Tunes
Palm Springs, CA – April 4th, 2008–Celebrating their ninth season, Caballeros will perform a showcase of contemporary Broadway tunes called I Love New York. For one night only at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert on May 17th at 8 p.m., fans of “the great white way” will be able to experience the sounds of Broadway right here in the Coachella Valley!
Among the many hits from various Broadway shows that will be performed in the I Love New York concert, Caballeros will also perform a fifteen-minute medley from “Hairspray”, which was commissioned by the Gay Men’s Chorus of New York and Seattle.
Broadway enthusiasts will be delighted to hear hits from shows such as “Rent”, “Chicago”, “Wicked, “The Lion King”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Grease” and “Avenue Q”.
In addition to all these great hits, Los Amigos — a smaller ensemble formed within Caballeros — will sing selections from show such as “Movin’ Out”, “Xanadu”, “Jersey Boys” and “The Fantastics”. Los Amigos performs styles of music and choreography less suited for the chorus as a whole.
